Exclaimer vs CodeTwo: which fits Microsoft 365?
Exclaimer and CodeTwo do the same core job: they add a company signature to mail sent from Microsoft 365, on the server, so it appears on messages from phones and third-party apps as well as Outlook. Pick CodeTwo if you are on Microsoft 365 only and want one product with a simple per-user price. Pick Exclaimer if you also run Google Workspace, or want to start on its cheapest tier. Both have a 10-user minimum and a 14-day trial, so test both with your own logo before you decide.
This is one of the most common questions in MSP and sysadmin threads, usually from someone moving between the two. Here is what each vendor publishes, checked in October 2026.

How to choose
- Are you on Google Workspace at all? If some of your mail runs through Gmail, CodeTwo Email Signatures 365 does not cover it. Exclaimer does.
- Which tier do you actually need? Exclaimer's Starter tier is cheaper per user than CodeTwo, but features differ between tiers. Price the tier that has what you need, such as campaigns or analytics.
- Where is your data processed? CodeTwo lets you choose the Azure region where signatures are processed. If that matters for compliance, ask Exclaimer the same question.
- Who edits the design? Try the editor with your real layout. Some admins import their own HTML; check that each tool accepts yours.
When you need neither
Server-side signing matters when every message must be signed, whatever the device. Many small teams do not need that. If identical footer text is enough, an Exchange mail flow rule is free. If you are on Google Workspace, a tool that writes each person's Gmail signature through the Gmail API does the job without routing mail through anyone. Our small business comparison lays out those options with prices.
Where Sendoff fits
Sendoff is client-side signature management. It writes signatures into Gmail on Google Workspace, and it never sits in your mail flow. On Microsoft 365, its Outlook add-in inserts signatures as people write; directory sync is coming soon. If you need server-side signing on Microsoft 365 now, CodeTwo or Exclaimer is the better fit, and we say so on our CodeTwo and Exclaimer comparison pages.
FAQ
Is Exclaimer or CodeTwo cheaper? At the entry tier, Exclaimer Starter ($0.90) is cheaper per user than CodeTwo ($1.22 for 10 to 25 users). At higher tiers or larger volumes the order can change, so compare the tier you need at your headcount.
Do Exclaimer and CodeTwo route my email through their servers? In server-side mode, yes: outgoing mail passes through their service so the signature can be added. CodeTwo's Outlook add-in mode and Exclaimer's client-side option do not.
Can I use either with fewer than 10 people? Both list a 10-user minimum, so a team of five pays for ten.
